Everybody knows that thanks to a little acorn we will be able to have over the years a majestic and age-old Oak tree. The symbiosis within the seeds and animals that ingest them, with the water and the wind which transport them sideways and lengthways the word populating the planet of trees and which permitted us to live, is important and indisputable.

Just to name few inseparable companions of the human being: the wheat, barley, rice and maize; these grains have been passed on from generation to generation, serving as a useful and lucrative resource, even as a payment currency.

Little by little the science, thanks to the biotechnology, has developed more tasty and resistant varieties of grains, which permits production efficiency at the lowest cost. However, these “crown jewels of the botanic evolution” are subject of greed for some corporations. It is easy to understand that every company investing in a new discovery may be facing an important economical risk. Then we assume the need of having a financial return thanks to a patent. However, the grains and seeds have become a speculative item, which will go public in the global stock market.

Big companies controlling the word seed trade met at Global Grain (this year in Geneva), from where they unleashed new trades in which the farmers will be dependent and forced to buy sterile seeds. This situation makes us think if there will be a day where also the animals, medicinal plants, fruit-trees, etc. will enter in this dynamic. What good does all this evolution, if shares on the stock exchange measure the final result?  All the investigations are useless if our planet is sick.

We invite you to cooperate trough urban and community sales; exchange and production of native seeds, even if they are not for feed, but with germinating power, as if it was a Noah’s ark for tubers, plants and trees. This invitation is for covering our food and medical needs in the future.

Unfortunately, it already exist the monopoly of renewable energy, petrol, gas and water, among others. Is it happening the same to our seeds?
